From Grassroots Efforts to Lasting Impact
Our History & Goal.
IBICD was founded to promote inclusive and sustainable community development worldwide. Our work focuses on strengthening education, improving access to healthcare, advancing the inclusion of people with disabilities, and supporting the social and economic participation of marginalized communities. We believe that lasting impact is achieved through empowerment, local partnerships, and long-term solutions. By connecting people, resources, and ideas across borders, we work to create resilient communities and opportunities for future generations.
2018–2020
Grassroots beginnings – diaspora youth in Europe launched fundraising initiatives and relief activities to support communities in Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Iraq, Bangladesh, Somalia, and Palestine.
2021–2022
The initiatives expanded through volunteer collaboration, local partnerships, and practical cross-border support.
2023–2024
Nearly €200,000 mobilized, 200+ projects supported, and thousands of people reached.
2025
A shared vision emerged, bringing these efforts together around inclusive community development, sustainable development, and rights-based action; governance foundations were refined.
2026
IBICD was formally established in its new cross-border institutional form, building on years of experience, trusted networks, and strong implementation capacity.
